What's For Lunch Wednesday!

I SO need to get my lake blurb on here!  I didnt even make a bento for today.  Its been rough getting back in the swing of things!  And I was only actually off work for 3 days!  I have been busy setting up a Family Share site for our family to put pics and events on.  I used Shutterfly.  I love their design and all of the capabilities!  Only complaint, the picture uploading is TERRIBLY slow :(.  Snapfish is SO much faster, but not near as neat.  I use Snapfish to store and share all of my pics.  Anyways.  So here is my BFF's work bento for today.  She was nice enough to let me take a pic and post it. (She learned her mad bento skillz from me anyways ;))
Her's looked super yummy!  Blackberries and Strawberries, Tomato slices, Green Grapes, and Bologna and Mayo on Whole Wheat!

And here is a Super Cute cupcake my coworker made today for the 4th!

(and the pinwheel really spins!!) love it!

Thanks for stopping by!!

Father's Day 2010: Part II

I got this idea off of a few different sites.  This is Cody's belated Fathers Day gift.  (I just couldnt make myself wait a whole year longer to get to do it for him!)  We framed it for his desk at work.  We plan on re-doing it each year with updated pics!!  He LOVED it!

Dinner Bentos

We're headed to the lake for 4 days in the morning, so we needed a quick dinner tonite that didn't involve much cleanup!

Bubby had a Whole Wheat Sandwich Round with Peanut Butter, Chester's PuffCorn, Cojack cheese cubes, and a couple Strawberries.  (The new sandwich rounds were a big hit!! even with the Hubs!!)

Freddi had Ham and Mustard Circlewiches, with Cojack Cheese Flowers, Chesters PuffCorn, and Strawberries

Be sure and check out Whats For Luch Wednesday!

Another Book Review

I just finished reading The Summer Kitchen by Lisa Wingate.  My aunt brought it to me last weekend and said I should read it.  It was a great book!  Hard to put down!  I look forward to reading more from this author.  You should definately add it to your Summer Reading List!!

Next up:  The Help

Off to the lake....

We are headed to the lake tomorrow!  I am hoping to redo my blog while I am sunning there.  Im thinking about splitting it into two seperate blogs (one for bentos and one for everything else).  What do you think??  Ideas are VERY welcome!!  Check out our menu for our trip!

Work Bento 6/22/10

Just another work bento.  Strawberries, Yogurt, ColbyJack Cheese, and a Bologna Sandwich.

Father's Day 2010: Part 1

To start off with, I was on a TIGHT budget for Father's Day this year.  We are doing the whole Dave Ramsey thing.  This is our 2nd "OFFICIAL" month doing the Envelope System.  I LOVE IT, but could it be any worse time to START the whole thing.  I mean seriously...Mother's Day, Father's Day, millions of Summer Birthday Parties and Wedding Showers, plus Vacation!!!  I know I would have another excuse if we started it at any other time, its just got me discouraged.  But I felt much better after I made the budget *semi* work for Father's Day.  The Dad's in our life love to snack!  So this is what we came up with...

We woke up to no kiddos on Father's Day morning.  Kylee was gone for a whole week to her other Dad's and Clancer spent the night at Gran's since we had a Farm Bureau function the day before.  So that left poor old Mom to make up for it.  So I threw together a quick breakfast of pancakes, sausage and homeade sugar syrup for the MOST AMAZING DAD out there....

We are so blessed to have this wonderful Father and Husband in our lives.  He loves us more than we can imagine and shows it in his actions everyday....

Watch out for Part II of Father's Day 2010.  I have a *belated* Father's Day gift for Cody coming soon.

Huggies Jean Diapers (and a popsicle!)

Well, I gave Huggies another shot.  I love the look of the New Huggies Jean Diapers!!  Not that many people besides us at home usually ever see my Lil Man's diaper, but hey, they're cute!  I am a major Pampers girl.  I used them with Freddi as a baby and it is all I have used for Bubby.  But, I decided I'd try them out.  (And by 'try them out', I did my usual stock up option and bought 2 cases ;) Cody hates it when I do that.)  Anyways.  He has been wearing them for a couple of weeks now.  They aren't bad and Bubby hasn't minded them, but I think I'll stick with Pampers.  Even Cody commented on how much softer our Pampers are.  But arent they just adorable?!?!!

Also...check out Whats For Lunch Wednesday this week!!

Basketball Camp Snack Bento

Today Kylee took a snack bento to Basketball Camp.  The concession stand just didn't work out.  I asked her last night what she had for her snack.  She said for snack she had a Frito Pie, THEN for her REAL snack she had nachos and sour straws.  WHAT?!?!  Im pretty sure that we BOTH told her she could get ONE thing!! She said, "But I still have money left!"  Yeh right, maybe a quarter!
And dont even get me started on this whole concession stand at a 3 1/2 hour basketball camp.  First of all, surely they can make it 3 1/2 hours without food?  Wouldn't ya think?  I mean they eat breakfast right before camp, and then its lunch time as soon as they release.  I'm pretty sure they just wanted to make MORE money.  And then, they serve: fish sticks, nachos, frito pie, candy, etc.??? Come on!  Wouldn't you serve things like fruit, cheese, pb cracker, etc.???  Ok, ok...I'll stop there.
Anyways.  She had cheese cubes, pb crackers, apple slices, and a couple of tiny slim jims :)

What's For Lunch, Wednesday!

I linked up again this week for "What's For Lunch, Wednesday!"

I didn't make a Bento today because Freddi is enjoying buying her own lunch from the concession stand at basketball camp this week.  It is only 4 hours, but they have a concession stand, and she thinks she is so "big" getting to "pick" what she wants.  We told her she could get ONE thing.  So we asked her what she got yesterday and she said she had to get TWO things because they had TWO breaks.  Um, No.  No you dont.  I don't think you need to eat nachos twice in 4 hours.  Im sure she only ate 3 out of each bowl of them anyways.  So we made sure that she knew today that she could get ONE snack TOTAL for the entire 4 hours.  I wanted to just make her a snack bento, but she is loving the "adventure"! lol  Anyways.  I picked her last day of school bento to link up.  Check them all out here!

10K with a Bento!

Today my Mom, my BFF, and I participated in our hometown 10K.  It was VERY hot, but we made it thru!  I packed Clanc a bento for the stroll.  He was awesome the whole way!!

The Stash is going in the TRASH!

We kicked this habit over a month ago at 16 1/2 months.  It was totally harder on me than him!  I guess knowing that he is our last baby, and that made him more babyish to me. :(  "Luvie" will be a totally different story!

Kylee's Last Day of Kindergarten :(

Kylee last day of Kindergarten was Thursday.  She had the most wonderful teacher.  I know she will miss her next year.  The hubs was sweet enough to go in and take pics that morning!  I can't believe she is officially a 1st Grader!
