Bento #6 - Lunch in the Ocean :)

Octodog
Cheese StarFish
Olive Kabobs
Ants on a Log (floating in the ocean, of course)
and, her favorite, Strawberries!
After this picture was taken, three more Octodogs were added. Dad thought she was going to starve with the two that I was sending. I really wanted Goldfish crackers for this bento, but we were all out :(. She hates raisins, so I told her that she could take the "ants" off, but they had to be there for looks :). I really wanted to think of something more creative to do for the olives, but I was tired.

Kylee's (actual) Birthday (at school)

Cody and I went to the school and had lunch with Kylee on her "actual" birthday. She of course wanted cheese pizza. Cody was thrilled about the little chairs and tables. ;)

I took cupcakes to Kylee's class later in the day. They all enjoyed them!!

Kylee's Birthday Bedroom Makeover

Kylee's 6th Birthday was yesterday, so we redecorated her room while she was gone for the weekend. She LOVES zebra print, peace signs, hot pink and purple. So that was our inspiration. It was a LONG day Saturday, but we got it done. When she arrived on Sunday, she had NO IDEA that we were having a surprise party or that we had redecorated her room. Her reaction was priceless. I even teared up! I love her so much!!! Anyways. Enjoy the pics!

Bento #2

Kylee loved her first Bento. Here only complaint was that her sandwich was not big enough. I tried to explain to her that it had the same contents of a regular sandwich. So last night she decided we needed to make a big sandwich. She wanted it heart shaped so we cut out 2 small hearts. She didnt understand that her sandwich today would actually be smaller. I am trying to get her to rediscover yogurt. She used to like it alot but for some reason says she doesnt anymore. I told her she had to atleast try it. I am still trying to make my first Bentos without a trip to the grocery store. So we made Teddy Graham-wiches using the leftover frosting from last weeks cupcakes;)
Bento #2 Menu:
Ham and Mayo Heartwiches
Cheese, Olive and Pepperoni Kabobs
Vanilla Yogurt with Peaches

Is this your spoon?!?

Ok, so I get my son dressed in the dark. Its early. He isn't ready for light by that time. I thought everything was fine today until I get a text from Miss Amanda with this pic and asking "Is this your spoon?" I told her probably so since we were eating yogurt last night in the car waiting for Kylee to get out of gymnastics. (I just figured it was in his bag.) WELL, apparently Atyana found this in his shoe after Miss Amanda took them off of him. Um, yeah, so I guess that means I somehow managed to get his shoes on him with a spoon in them!!! How bad is that???

My First Bento!

Last night I made my first Bento Lunchbox for Kylee. I NEED to go to the grocery store, so I had very limited options this time, but I think I did quite well. I cant wait to go shopping for some Bento supplies. This lunch included ham and cream cheese roll ups, swiss cheese and black olive skewers, a heart brownie, and pineapple tidbits. I cant wait to see what her reaction is to the new and improved lunchbox! Stay tuned for more Bento adventures!!

BSCC Playday Awards Banquet

We attended the Boots N Saddle Cowboy Church Playday Awards Banquet on Sunday. Kylee won a new buckle with her name on it, a BSCC jacket and a Cowboy Bible. She was so excited that she got her first "black' buckle!

HFMD

Last week Bubby was sick. He started out with (what I thought was) a single blister on his tongue on Saturday. Then by Tuesday he had had fever for a couple of days and woke up Wednesday morning with a mouthful of blisters :(. I got him into his pediatrician Wednesday afternoon and she said it was Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease. Unfortunately, you just have to let it runs its course. So we went home armed with Motrin. My Mema was going to watch him on Thursday since it is contagious. Then she called at 6am on Thursday morning reporting that my Pop had the stomach bug all night. (The stomach bug had already been going around my office and my brother also had it the day before.) SO, I opted to stay home with him and try to keep him away from that. Unfortunately that did not work and he started vomiting that day. He was pitiful and we got lots of cuddling time in. By Friday afternoon he was back to his old self! Luckily no one else in our house developed either ailment!
